How To Get US Religious Work Visa
To obtain a religious work visa for the United States, also known as an R-1 visa, you must meet the following requirements:
You must be a member of a religious denomination that has a nonprofit religious organization in the United States.
You must have been a member of the religious denomination for at least two years immediately prior to applying for the visa.
You must be coming to the United States to work in a full-time, compensated position with the nonprofit religious organization.
You must be coming to the United States solely to work as a minister or in a religious vocation or occupation.
Once you meet these requirements, you can apply for an R-1 visa by following these steps:
Obtain a job offer from a nonprofit religious organization in the United States
Have the religious organization file Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker, on your behalf with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
Wait for USCIS to approve the petition.
